I'm amazed...

There are a couple things that Paige has done lately to amaze me. I should know that she watches my every move and copies a lot of things that I do but, I was amazed by a couple things this week.

~We got a Christmas card from a the Burnham's and enclosed was a bookmark with 3 pictures, one of each of their grandchildren. Paige was thirsty and came into the kitchen proclaiming her need for "wa-wa", I picked her up and proceeded to grab her water. There was a pile of Christmas cards on the counter and the bookmark was at the top of the pile. She dropped her cup and started saying "ABBY" over and over, at first I was trying to figure out what she was pointing at. Then I noticed the bookmark and low and behold there was a picture of "ABBY"! The shocking part is the other 2 pictures were of her own cousins, Andy and Alice! She grabbed the bookmark and gave Abby kisses, she carried it around most of the morning kissing it and talking to Abby. Paige has only seen Abby a handful of times, last time being about 2 months ago...I was shocked that she'd remember Abby's name and recognizing a little 2 inch x 2 inch picture of her! That picture is now mangled and Abby is nearly unrecognizable from all the kissing and crinkling...ha..ha..ha...
~The other day I was folding laundry and Paige was helping. She likes to shake the wrinkles out and hand me the items that need to be folded. I started a pile of washcloths that I use to wash her up after meals. The pile was about 10 high when she grabbed it, I didn't mind...thought it would be fun for her to play with. She usually takes them and covers her babies. She was out of sight for a couple minutes and I had a few dishtowels to put away when I found her in the kitchen. She had opened the very tall drawer and was putting the washcloths in one by one. She could hardly reach and was standing on her tippy toes trying so hard to get every last one in the drawer. It was the exact drawer that I keep them in! It goes to show that she watches my every move, and is a good reminder for me to "do the right thing" because I know she's watching.
~We watched a huge deer eat out of the bird feeder for about 10 minutes last night. It was a 10 point buck and Ryan was drooling. It was dark outside so we had to put our faces close to the glass and cup our eyes with our hands. I LOVE watching Paige do this...she usually cups her forehead and squints her little eyes. We turned all the lights off last night and put the outside light on so we could sit back and enjoy the view. Paige pounded on the window screaming "deer-deer", blowing kisses and waving bye-bye. The deer didn't care at all...I think he was amused too.
She is growing up so fast and is such a sweet little girl.
