Cookies for someone special...
Paige and I make cookies for someone special yesterday, it's someone who really likes molasses cookies AND who reads this blog. I'm trying to be sneaky, but you know who you are...it's your birthday in a few days! Actually, it's your birthday on 12-12-12 (the last time that will ever happen again!) You're pretty special to us so we made you your favorite cookies for your birthday!
Thanks for being such a good big brother to me and a wonderful uncle to Paige...we are lucky to have you! I hope you don't see this post until after your b-day gathering, it's part of your gift!
Paige practiced singing "Happy Birthday Uncle Pat" through most of the cookie making process, followed by "do I get to eat one" and "when do I get to eat one".

Shaving Cream...
Who knew that shaving cream could be so much fun? Paige made a huge mess and had a blast! Ryan had hernia surgery today so I was trying to find "quiet" activities for Paige to do so he could rest. It was all fun and games until she started clapping her hands and shaving cream flew everywhere...and I mean EVERYWHERE! Fun and messy...
Tree Topper
I know that a tree topper should technically be a star or an angel, but we decided to do things a little different. Paige has been obsessed with rudolph so I thought it was fitting to do a rudolph tree topper this year. She's still singing rudolph all day long but has added "away in the manger" to her list of favorites. I'll try to get it on video sometime soon, it's adorable!

Cute Story
We ran out of milk tonight so I ran to the gas station to grab some as I knew Paige would want some in the morning. Before I left I asked Ryan if he wanted anything from the store, then jokingly said "how about you Paige, do you need anything?" She said "actually, I need a puppy"...she didn't skip a beat! She cracks me up!
Santa!
We had our visit with Santa yesterday! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for inviting us to "brunch with Santa" at their church. Paige was so excited to see the big guy in red, she had only seen pictures of him and heard songs about him so we were unsure of how she was going to react. She was a little shy at first but then sat on his lap and even told him what was on her list.
Paige's List:
1. A small trampoline
2. A blue horse
3. A brown cow
4. A chicken (from the advice of her uncle pat)
She was happy, and on the drive home said "when are we going to see Santa again?"

Pinterest Project
Pinterest stikes again! I saw this and thought it would be fun to make for Paige, they suggested I buy 3 yards of fabric and make it all "from scratch". I decided that buying 4 pillowcases from Walmart (less then $10) was a much easier approach. Paige picked them out, blue is her favorite color and she liked the stripes too.
I'm not sure that it's as perfect as the one on pinterest, I am not a seamstress...none of the lines are straight, but Paige doesn't seem to mind. It's a cozy little spot for her to snuggle up and read or watch a movie. According to Paige, doubles as a "horse kennel" and a place for puppets. She's had fun with it and it was an easy project for me, plus we had extra pillows laying around just waiting for a job like this!
