Big Girl Bed

Well, she/we did it! She slept all night in the twin bed with help from Grandma's bed-rails. I must say I was worried about her falling out so after much worry and a quick search on Craigslist I ended up buying a toddler bed this morning. There was no nap-time yesterday due to an over-tired girl who wouldn't sleep in a big girl bed. Needless to say that being VERY tire helped her sleep through the night last night and as I type she's sleeping in her new "big-girl" bed. Change is hard, she's going through so much growth right now...she wants to be independent yet still needs our help. She's been busy, and very active lately I know she's growing because she's able to turn the lights off and on all by herself, she couldn't do that two weeks ago. So many things are changing and it's obvious that our little girl is no longer a baby. Here's a pic of her in her new bed :).

Bike Ride

We took a bike ride to our favorite little spot on the trail near our neighborhood. It was a hot day so Paige put her feet in the water to cool off. She's learned to enjoy our bike rides, much better then last summer when she didn't want anything to do with it.

Family Time...

We had a fun day together as a family on Monday, we went for a little get-a-way to the Brainerd and enjoyed seeing our great granny.  Paige had a hard time going to sleep and learned to crawl out of her pack n' play...it was an adventure for mommy and daddy. She also ended up with a huge bump on her forehead, which is now a beautiful shade of green and purple.
This little girl is for sure showing her true "2 year old" colors, she's been pushing the limits with many things lately. Bedtime has been a HUGE struggle, she is currently screaming in her bed. I'm not sure what triggered this behavior but I wish it this phase would pass. It's sad to hear her cry, scream and be totally exhausted...and it's pretty hard on her mom and dad too!

Why is falling asleep so hard?

I have no idea what happened to my amazing sleeper girl. For the past 6 months she's been awesome about going to bed, but we're back to the days of taking an hour to fall asleep. There's screaming, kicking, jumping, yelling oh and did I mention screaming? Her favorite things to scream are "mommy, rock a minute" and "daddy rub my back". Not only has she had a horrible time falling asleep at nap time and bedtime but like clockwork she's been waking up between 3:30 - 4:00am. It usually takes her about an hour to calm down and fall back asleep again...it's exhausting and frustrating. I love you Paige, and you need to give mommy and daddy a break...we're beat!

Cabin Time

It was a perfect day to visit our friends at their cabin today. It was HOT...HOT...HOT! The kids played in a little pool and the adults went for rides on the jet-ski in the lake (yes, even the moms)! Paige and James had so much fun, they always get along so well. Mandy was so sweet and made an adorable birthday cake for Paige, we had a little early birthday and Paige was spoiled with more horses then you could imagine. She was in heaven and I'm sure it will be the first thing that she asks about when she wakes up in the morning. It was so cute to listen to James and Paige laugh together, I think there was more laughing then eating at the dinner table tonight...we all loved it! Thanks to our friends for a great day at the cabin!

Bieber Fever?

Look who's got Bieber fever! Notice how she says "baby, baby, baby...oh". I guess this is what I looked like as a teenager singing along with all the New Kids On The Block songs!

Sleeping In!

I had to write this so I can document that Paige slept until 7:20 this morning! This might be silly to most, but she's always been an early riser and 7:20 hasn't happened in EVER! Well, maybe when she was under the age of one but that was because she was waking up several times a night. I know it won't happen again soon but it sure felt good to have a quiet cup of coffee with the "Today" show. I'm all caught up on current events and gossip. Although, it was weird to but up by myself...I was thrilled when she finally woke up and we had our morning snuggle while Barney.
